AI family portrait from separate photos: Nano Banana prompts to put everyone in one picture

By GetStepSnap · Tested October 8, 2026

Someone is always missing from the family photo: they live far away, they couldn't make it that day, or they were the one holding the camera. Attach up to 4 separate photos and Nano Banana 2.1 puts everyone in one picture.

Every result below is the first one we got at 1K, resized and nothing else. All the starting photos were made with the model.

The four starting photos: the woman's cafe selfie, the man's street snapshot, an older woman in her kitchen and a boy on a park bench (all made with the model)
Before
A studio family portrait of the woman, the man, the older woman and the boy in cream and denim against a gray backdrop
After

Studio family portrait from four photos

Use the people from these four photos and keep every face exactly the same: the woman from the first photo, the man from the second, the older woman from the third and the boy from the fourth. A family portrait in a photo studio: the four of them together against a soft gray backdrop, the older woman seated in the middle with the boy beside her and the couple standing behind, all in coordinated cream and denim outfits. Soft, even studio light and natural smiles, like a professional family photo.

The grandmother seated in the middle, the boy beside her and the couple behind, all in cream and denim. All four faces match their photos.

The four starting photos: the woman's cafe selfie, the man's street snapshot, an older woman in her kitchen and a boy on a park bench (all made with the model)
Before
The four of them walking through a meadow at golden hour, the boy holding his grandmother's hand
After

Golden-hour walk in a meadow

Use the people from these four photos and keep every face exactly the same: the woman from the first photo, the man from the second, the older woman from the third and the boy from the fourth. A candid family photo in a meadow at golden hour: the four of them walking together toward the camera, the boy holding his grandmother's hand, everyone laughing, warm backlight and tall grass. Realistic, like a photo by a family photographer.

The boy holds his grandmother's hand and everyone is laughing. He even kept the yellow T-shirt from his photo.

The two starting photos: the couple at a Paris cafe table and the older woman in her kitchen (both made with the model)
Before
The couple at the Paris cafe table with the older woman added just behind them, holding a cup of coffee
After

Add someone to a photo you already have

Add the older woman from the second photo to the first photo: she sits at the table with the couple, smiling and holding a cup of coffee. Keep everyone's faces exactly the same, match the light, colors and film look of the first photo, and keep the rest of the first photo unchanged.

She's there with her coffee, smiling, in the same film look, but at the table just behind them rather than at theirs.

The three starting photos: the older woman, the woman's cafe selfie and the boy on a park bench (all made with the model)
Before
The older woman, the woman and the boy on a sofa looking at a photo album together
After

Three generations on the sofa

Use the people from these three photos and keep every face exactly the same: the older woman from the first photo, the woman from the second and the boy from the third. A cozy three-generation portrait on a living room sofa: grandmother, mother and son sitting close together, the boy in the middle holding a photo album, soft window light, warm and natural, like a candid family photo at home.

Grandmother, mother and son close together over a photo album in soft window light. All three faces match.

Tips

  • Say which face comes from which photo. "The woman from the first photo, the man from the second" and so on. Every face in our results matched its photo.
  • Place each person. "Seated in the middle", "standing behind", "holding his grandmother's hand": the studio and meadow pictures followed all of it.
  • Check where an added person ends up. We asked for the grandmother at the couple's table and got her at the table behind.

What it costs

On GetStepSnap your first 1K image is free. After that a picture takes 1 credit at 1K or 2K, however many photos you attach, and 100 credits cost $9.90 (plus local tax where it applies), about $0.10 each, with no subscription. Ours took about 28 seconds each. For two people, see AI couple photo from two photos; for the holidays, a Christmas card.

Questions

How do I combine separate photos into one family portrait?

Attach each person's photo (up to 4 on GetStepSnap), then say who comes from which photo, for example "the woman from the first photo, the man from the second", and describe the setting and where everyone sits or stands.

Can I add someone to a photo I already have?

Yes. Attach the photo first and the person's photo second, then ask to add them. Ours kept the film look but seated her at the next table, so say exactly where the person should be.

How many people can be in the picture?

You can attach up to 4 photos, and one photo can hold more than one person, like our cafe photo of the couple. We haven't tested more than four people in one picture.

Is it free?

Your first 1K image on GetStepSnap is free. After that a picture takes 1 credit at 1K or 2K, however many photos you attach, and 100 credits cost $9.90 (plus local tax where it applies), about $0.10 each. No subscription.

What happens to the photos I upload?

We store them so the model can read them and so your results stay in your account. We don't sell them or use them for anything else. To have them deleted, email support@getstepsnap.com.
