BeforeA pancake mid-flip, a stack already done and a kitchen too small for him. The busiest picture here, and the one that looks most like a gift.
Your own image will show up here.
We started from two everyday snapshots and a dog photo, all made with the model, so no real person appears here. Every caricature is the first result we got at 1K. The small picture is the photo we started from; "Use this prompt" puts the prompt in the tool above.
Hand-drawn caricature styles: street artist and pencil
The two looks people know from fairs and boardwalks: marker and watercolor, or a quick pencil sketch.

Street artist, marker and watercolor
Turn the person in this photo into a friendly caricature, like one drawn by a street artist at a fair: a big head on a small body, their smile and hair a little exaggerated but still clearly them, in black marker with bright watercolor on white paper, with quick, loose shading. No words or signature.
Big head, loose marker lines and watercolor, and her wavy hair given a bit more volume. It put her back at the cafe table from the selfie, coffee and pastry included, and came back as a photo of the sheet of paper.

Pencil sketch
Turn the person in this photo into a friendly pencil caricature sketch: a big head on a small body, their smile and hair a little exaggerated but still clearly them, quick confident graphite lines and light shading on cream sketchbook paper. No words or signature.
Graphite on a sketchbook page, a big head on a tiny body, and his hair pushed into spikes. The smile and the stubble are his.
Digital caricature: painted or 3D cartoon
Smooth and bright: a painted caricature for a card or a profile picture, and a 3D cartoon version.

Digital painting
Turn the person in this photo into a friendly digital caricature painting: a big head on a small body, their smile and hair a little exaggerated but still clearly them, smooth glossy shading and bright colors, standing on a plain colored background. No words.
The classic format: a big glossy head on a small body, the navy t-shirt from the snapshot, and a plain peach background.

3D cartoon
Turn the person in this photo into a friendly 3D cartoon caricature, like a character from an animated movie: a big head on a small body, their smile and hair a little exaggerated but still clearly them, big expressive eyes, soft studio lighting on a pastel background. No words.
Big eyes and soft 3D shading, in her gray hoodie. It kept the cafe from the selfie instead of a pastel background, and the table cuts her off at the waist, so the small body doesn't show.
A caricature about your job or hobby
The same big head, doing the thing they're known for. Swap in any job or hobby.

The graphic designer
Turn the person in this photo into a friendly caricature about their work: a big head on a small body, their smile and hair a little exaggerated but still clearly them, as a graphic designer at a desk with a giant stylus, a huge coffee mug and color swatches flying around. A bright digital illustration. No words.
The giant stylus, the huge mug and color swatches everywhere, with a big grin. A couple of made-up words crept onto the posters behind her, even with "No words".

The weekend cook
Turn the person in this photo into a friendly caricature about their weekend hobby: a big head on a small body, their smile and hair a little exaggerated but still clearly them, as a home cook flipping pancakes from a giant frying pan in a tiny kitchen. A bright digital illustration. No words.
A pancake mid-flip, a stack already done and a kitchen too small for him. The busiest picture here, and the one that looks most like a gift.
Pet caricature
Pets get the big-head treatment too.

The dog and the tennis ball
Turn the dog in this photo into a friendly caricature: a big head on a small body, its tongue and ears a little exaggerated but still clearly this dog, chasing an oversized tennis ball across a park. Bright marker and watercolor on white paper. No words.
Flying ears, a long tongue and a tennis ball almost as big as the dog. Still clearly the same golden retriever.
What makes a caricature
A caricature picks the two or three things people notice first about a face and pushes them: the hair, the smile, the eyebrows, the chin. The body shrinks so the head can grow. The good ones exaggerate what a person likes about themselves, which is why every prompt here says "friendly". Left to itself the model stays kind: ours came out flattering, not biting.
How to write a caricature prompt
- Upload one clear photo of the face. Front-on and well lit; the hair and the smile are what the caricature works with.
- Name the style and keep the middle. Every prompt for a person on this page has the same shape:Turn the person in this photo into a friendly [style] caricature: a big head on a small body, their smile and hair a little exaggerated but still clearly them, [what they're doing or holding], [the finish: marker, pencil, digital paint]. No words.
- Give them something to do. A job or a hobby turns a portrait into a story: the designer's giant stylus and the cook's flying pancake came from one clause each.
- Pick the size. 1K (1 credit) is plenty for a profile picture; 2K takes 2 credits, and 4K (3 credits) is the one to print.
A figure, a sticker or a pet portrait
The same photo can become a boxed toy with our AI action figure generator, a die-cut sticker, or, for the dog, a royal oil painting in the pet portrait guide.
What it costs
There's no free image: every caricature is paid with credits. One takes 1 credit at 1K, 2 at 2K and 3 at 4K (one more with 3 or 4 photos), and packs cost $4.90 for 20 credits or $9.90 for 70, with no subscription. Ours took 15 to 25 seconds each at 1K.
AI caricature generator FAQ
How can I create a caricature from a photo online?
Upload a clear photo of the face, keep the prompt in the box or pick a style below, and generate. It runs in the browser on a phone or a computer, with nothing to install. Each of the seven caricatures on this page was made from one starting photo and one sentence.
Is there a free AI caricature generator?
Not here: every caricature is paid with credits. One takes 1 credit at 1K, 2 at 2K and 3 at 4K (one more with 3 or 4 photos), and packs cost $4.90 for 20 credits or $9.90 for 70, with no subscription.
Will the caricature still look like me?
In ours, yes: the hair, the smile and the stubble survive the big head. Every prompt asks for the features "a little exaggerated but still clearly them". The 3D cartoon drifts furthest, since big cartoon eyes replace the real ones.
Can I make a caricature of a celebrity or a politician?
No. Images of politicians and celebrities aren't allowed here (see our Acceptable Use Policy). Make caricatures of yourself, or of someone who has said yes.
Can I put two people in one caricature?
Only from one photo with both of you in it. We don't put people from separate photos into one picture (see our Acceptable Use Policy).
Can I print it as a gift?
Yes, as a digital file you take to any print shop. Pick 4K (3 credits): our 4K tests came back 4800 x 3584 pixels, about 16 x 12 inches at 300 dpi.
What happens to the photos I upload?
We store them so the model can read them and your results stay in your account, and use them for nothing else. To have them deleted, email support@getstepsnap.com.
