Four edits, one button each
Made on this page with FLUX 3 Klein, each on the first try, about ten seconds apiece. The starting photos were made with an image model, so no real person is shown.

What FLUX 3 Klein is
Black Forest Labs, the team behind FLUX.1 and FLUX.2, put out FLUX 3 in pieces: the video model as a preview in August, the full FLUX 3 Image on October 1, and Klein two weeks later. Klein is the same image model cut down to 5.6 billion parameters, with its weights published so anyone can run it.
Smaller doesn't mean fewer features. Klein makes images from text, edits a photo you give it, mixes up to ten reference images into one picture, and takes a list of boxes that says where each thing goes. fal, which runs it for us, lists lettering and graphic design among its strengths, hence the poster button above. The real difference is size and price: Black Forest Labs charges under a cent for a 1K Klein image on its API, against about five cents for the full model.
What the four buttons do
- Your edit. Type what should change, as you'd say it to a friend who's good at Photoshop: "make it night", "swap the red car for a blue one", "put her in a yellow raincoat". Everything you don't mention is meant to stay put. One change at a time is easier to get right than five in one go.
- Poster. Your photo becomes a bold printed poster, portrait shape, with your headline across the top. Keep the headline short, 40 characters at most, and check the spelling on the result: image models still slip on long lines.
- White background. For anyone selling things: a photo of the product on your kitchen table comes back on a clean white studio background, square, with a soft shadow, the shape most shop listings use.
- Anime. The whole photo redrawn as a clean anime illustration, keeping faces, hair, clothes and the pose. It's written for photos of people or pets.
Each edit takes one photo. Klein can take up to ten, but we don't combine people from separate photos, so this page sticks to one.
How to edit a photo with FLUX 3 Klein
- Upload one photo: a selfie, a pet, a room, a product. Sharp and well lit beats big.
- Pick a button. For "Your edit", write the change in one sentence; for "Poster", the headline.
- Click Generate. The result shows up next to the tool and stays in your account.
- Not quite right? Say the change differently, or more precisely ("a light blue sofa" rather than "a nicer sofa"), and run it again.

Want the full model? The FLUX 3 page runs FLUX 3 Image from a sentence. It doesn't take photos, because FLUX 3 Image goes through Black Forest Labs' own API, whose terms let it learn from what's sent. Klein runs on fal's servers instead, which is why this page can edit your photo.
Is FLUX 3 Klein free?
The model is free. The computer to run it isn't. Klein's weights are on Hugging Face under the FLUX Kommunity License, and Black Forest Labs says they run on consumer graphics cards down to an RTX 3090 with 24 GB of memory. If you already have one and don't mind setting up the software, run it at home and pay nothing per image. Read the license before you use it for a business.
Most people don't have that card in their laptop. That's who this page is for: no download, no setup, 1 credit an edit.
What it costs
- 1 credit an edit, whichever button you pick. Packs cost $11.90 for 20 credits or $32.90 for 70, paid once: 20 or 70 edits, about $0.47 each on the bigger pack. No subscription, and credits don't expire.
- If an edit fails, its credit goes straight back to your balance.

Questions
What is FLUX 3 Klein?
FLUX 3 Image Klein is the smallest model in Black Forest Labs' FLUX 3 family, released October 15, 2026. It has 5.6 billion parameters and the same features as the full FLUX 3 Image: images from text, edits of a photo, up to ten reference images and boxes that say where things go. Its weights are open, so you can download it and run it on your own computer.
Is FLUX 3 Klein free?
The model is: its weights are free to download from Hugging Face under Black Forest Labs' FLUX Kommunity License. Running it is the catch, since it needs an RTX 3090 (24 GB) or a stronger graphics card and some setting up. Here it isn't free: an edit takes 1 credit, and packs cost $11.90 for 20 credits or $32.90 for 70, paid once.
Is this the official FLUX 3 Klein?
No. GetStepSnap is an independent service, not affiliated with or endorsed by Black Forest Labs. We run FLUX 3 Image Klein through an API provider, fal.ai, and charge credits for the edits you make here.
What happens to the photo I upload?
fal runs Klein on its own servers, so your photo goes to fal for the edit and doesn't go to Black Forest Labs. We store it so the model can read it and your result stays in your account, and use it for nothing else. To have it deleted, email support@getstepsnap.com.
How is Klein different from FLUX 3 Image?
Klein is the small, open version: same features, a fraction of the price on Black Forest Labs' API ($0.009 against $0.048 for a 1K image), and it runs on a home graphics card. FLUX 3 Image is the full model, with closed weights. On GetStepSnap, Klein edits photos on this page and FLUX 3 Image makes images from text on the FLUX 3 page.
Can I combine several photos?
Klein itself takes up to ten reference images. This page takes one photo an edit, and we don't combine people from separate photos.
How big is the result?
Up to about 4 megapixels. Your edit and the anime version keep the shape of your photo, about 2300 by 1700 pixels from a phone photo (a small photo gives a smaller result). The poster comes out 1728 by 2304 and the white background shot 2048 by 2048.
Can I use the edits commercially?
We don't claim any rights to the images you make here: you may use them for personal or commercial purposes, subject to the law and to the model maker's terms. If you run Klein's weights yourself, read the FLUX Kommunity License first.
