What FLUX 3 is
FLUX 3 isn't one model but a family from Black Forest Labs, the team behind FLUX.1 and FLUX.2. It came out in pieces:
- July 23, 2026: Black Forest Labs announces FLUX 3, one model trained across image, video and audio.
- August 4: FLUX 3 Video, with sound, opens as a preview.
- October 1: FLUX 3 Image: text to image, edits of chosen parts, up to ten references, up to 4K.
- October 15: FLUX 3 Image Klein: a 5.6-billion-parameter version with open weights.
The image model's party trick is layout. You can describe a picture the normal way, or add a list of boxes that says where each thing goes: the headline here, the face there, one panel of a comic in each corner. Black Forest Labs also built it to change one marked part of a picture and leave every other pixel alone, and to combine up to ten reference images. Their bounding box guide shows the format; boxes go at the end of the prompt.
FLUX 3 Image or FLUX 3 Image Klein?
| FLUX 3 Image | FLUX 3 Image Klein | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | The full image model | A 5.6B version of it, with the same features |
| Weights | Closed; a commercial weights license on request | Open, on Hugging Face, under the FLUX Kommunity License |
| Runs on your own computer | No | Yes, on consumer graphics cards down to an RTX 3090 |

Klein is the cheap way in: open weights, and a fifth of the price or less on the API. If you have the graphics card and the patience, run Klein yourself. If you want the full model in a browser tab, without setting anything up, that's what this page is for.
Why this tool takes text only
FLUX 3 Image can edit photos, but here it only gets your prompt. Black Forest Labs' API terms let it use what's sent to its models to improve them, and we don't want your selfies in anyone's training set. To edit your own photo, use Nano Banana 2.1 or GPT Image 2.5 here instead.
What it costs

|---|---|---|

Questions
Is this the official FLUX 3?
No. GetStepSnap is an independent service, not affiliated with or endorsed by Black Forest Labs. We run Black Forest Labs' FLUX 3 Image model through an API provider (fal.ai) and charge credits for the images you make here.
When did FLUX 3 come out?
Black Forest Labs announced FLUX 3 on July 23, 2026, released FLUX 3 Video as a preview on August 4, FLUX 3 Image on October 1, and the open-weights FLUX 3 Image Klein on October 15.
How much does a FLUX 3 image cost here?
2 credits at 1K and 4 at 2K, in any shape. Packs cost $4.90 for 20 credits or $9.90 for 70, paid once, so the 70-credit pack makes up to 35 images at 1K. No subscription, and credits don't expire.
Is FLUX 3 free?
Not here: every image is paid with credits. FLUX 3 Image Klein's weights are free to download under Black Forest Labs' FLUX Kommunity License, but you need a strong graphics card, an RTX 3090 or better, to run them yourself.
What's the difference between FLUX 3 Image and FLUX 3 Image Klein?
Klein is a smaller, open-weights version of FLUX 3 Image with the same features: text to image, edits, up to ten references and bounding boxes. It costs much less per image on Black Forest Labs' API ($0.009 against $0.048 at 1K) and runs on a home graphics card. This page runs FLUX 3 Image.
Can I upload a photo to edit with FLUX 3 here?
No, this tool makes images from text only. Black Forest Labs' API terms let it use what's sent to its models to improve them, so we don't send your photos there. To edit your own photo, use Nano Banana 2.1 or GPT Image 2.5 on this site.
Can I use FLUX 3 images commercially?
We don't claim any rights to the images you make here: you may use them for personal or commercial purposes, subject to the law and to the model maker's terms. Black Forest Labs sells FLUX 3 Image through its API for commercial work. Klein's open weights come under its FLUX Kommunity License, so read that before you run Klein yourself for a business.
Why no 4K?
A 4K FLUX 3 image costs $0.607 or more to make, more than ten times a 1K one, so we offer 1K and 2K. 2K is about 4 megapixels, plenty for a print up to about 7 by 7 inches at 300 dpi.
