Dog Christmas photo, made from a picture of your own dog
Upload a phone photo of your dog, pick a Christmas scene, and the same dog appears in it about a minute later: reindeer antlers in the snow, a sleigh of presents, a Santa hat by the fire. A dog Christmas photo with no photographer, no costume and no tree to set up.

Dog Christmas photos we made
The first dog Christmas photo we got for each prompt, at 1K, from one phone photo of a golden retriever (the small picture, made with the model too). "Use this prompt" puts the prompt in the tool above.

A dog pulling a sleigh of presents
Turn this photo into a Christmas photo of the same dog, keeping it looking exactly like this dog: pulling a small wooden sleigh piled with wrapped presents through fresh snow, a red scarf around its neck, a snowy pine forest with warm string lights at dusk, a joyful, realistic photo.

Dog in reindeer antlers
Use the dog in this photo and keep it looking exactly like this dog. A Christmas photo: the dog wears a soft reindeer antler headband and a red scarf and sits in fresh snow in front of a cabin decorated with Christmas lights, at dusk. A realistic, joyful photo with snowflakes in the air.
Antlers, scarf, snow and the cabin lights, as asked; the same golden retriever.
More dog Christmas photo ideas
Nine more dog Christmas photo ideas, written the same way as the two above so your dog stays your dog. Each prompt starts with "Turn this photo into a Christmas photo of the same dog, keeping it looking exactly like this dog:" and then the scene below; "Use this prompt" puts the whole thing in the tool. We haven't made pictures of these yet, and each one costs the same as any photo.
Santa hat by the fireplace
wearing a small red Santa hat, lying on a plaid blanket in front of a fireplace with stockings hung above it, a lit Christmas tree to the side, warm cozy light, a realistic photo.
Under the tree with the presents
sitting under a decorated Christmas tree between wrapped presents, a gold bow on its collar, soft fairy lights, a realistic photo.
Ugly Christmas sweater
wearing a knitted Christmas sweater with snowflakes and reindeer on it, sitting on a sofa with festive cushions, warm light, a funny, realistic photo.
Santa's little helper
dressed as one of Santa's elves in a green hat with a bell and a striped collar, in a workshop full of wooden toys, a playful, realistic photo.
A walk in the snow
trotting through a snowy park in a red plaid scarf, snowflakes falling, warm string lights in the trees, a candid photo with a shallow depth of field.
Christmas card portrait
a studio portrait on a deep red background, wearing a green velvet bow tie, a sprig of holly beside it, soft studio light, like a classic Christmas card photo.
Watching the snow fall
resting its chin on a windowsill and looking out at falling snow, a candle and pine branches on the sill, warm light inside, a calm, realistic photo.
Christmas morning pajamas
wearing red-and-white striped Christmas pajamas, sitting among torn wrapping paper on Christmas morning, a lit tree behind it, a joyful, realistic photo.
In a stocking (small dogs)
peeking out of a big red Christmas stocking hung on a mantel, fairy lights around it, a cute, realistic photo.
How to make a Christmas picture of your dog
- Upload your dog's photo. One where the face is sharp and well lit, ideally taken at the dog's eye level. Two dogs work too when they're already in the same photo.
- Pick a scene. The box starts with the sleigh of presents; tap "Use this prompt" on any idea above, or change the place, the outfit or the light yourself.
- Pick a shape. 4:5 fits an Instagram post and an 8 x 10 print, 9:16 a story, 2:3 a 4 x 6 print.
- Download it, or keep going. Say what to change and the next version keeps the rest.
A sharp, well-lit face
The AI copies the dog it can see. A blurry or dark face comes back looking like a different dog, so pick a photo where the eyes and nose are clear.
Say what has to stay
Every prompt here asks for the same dog. Name anything special too: the white patch on the chest, one ear up, the gray muzzle.
Fix one thing at a time
Close but not quite? Ask for one change: "make the scarf green", "add snow on its back". The rest of the photo stays as it was.
Cats, cards and the rest of the family
A cat in a gift box or a Santa hat, or you and your family by the tree, are on the AI Christmas photo page. To send your dog's photo with a greeting printed on it, the AI Christmas card maker lays out the card with your words. And for the rest of the year, there's the AI pet portrait: your dog as a royal oil painting, a watercolor or pop art.
Dog Christmas photo FAQ
How do I make a Christmas picture of my dog?
Upload a clear phone photo of your dog to the tool at the top of this page, pick a Christmas scene below or describe your own, and download the new picture about a minute later. The same dog appears in the scene, with its coat, markings and face kept.
Will it still look like my dog?
It should: our dog Christmas photos came back as the same golden retriever in both scenes, coat and face unchanged. Start from a sharp photo, keep the "same dog" wording in the prompt, and name any markings that matter to you.
Can I use a photo from my phone?
Yes. A normal phone photo is all it needs; our starting photo is a dog sitting on the grass in a park. You don't need a costume, a tree or a photographer.
Can I put two dogs in one Christmas photo?
Yes. The most natural results come from one photo with both dogs already in it. Say "the same two dogs" in the prompt so neither one gets swapped or left out.
How much does a dog Christmas photo cost?
A photo takes 1 credit at 1K, 2 at 2K and 3 at 4K (one more with 3 or 4 photos), with any prompt on this page, and packs cost $11.90 for 20 credits or $32.90 for 70, paid once. There's no free image and no subscription.
What size should I pick for a Christmas card or a print?
4:5 at 2K for an 8 x 10 inch print or an Instagram post, 2:3 for a 4 x 6 print, and 9:16 for a story. 1K takes 1 credit and 2K takes 2 credits.
Can my cat get a Christmas photo too?
Yes, the same tool works for cats. The AI Christmas photo page has a cat peeking out of a gift box and a cat in a Santa hat by the fire, with the prompts we used.
What happens to the photos I upload?
We store them so the model can read them and your results stay in your account, and we don't use them to train AI models or for anything else. You can delete results and uploaded photos yourself in Your images and credits, or email support@getstepsnap.com for help.
